Travis Meets Greg Murphy

Travis’ cherished wish was to meet Greg Murphy at the V8 Supercars Championship in Hamilton. Travis loves anything to do with car racing and Greg is his favourite driver.

Travis’ parents only told him that his wish was about to come true a few days before he left for Hamilton. His dad and brother accompanied him; they are also huge motorsport fans and when the NZ Make-a- Wish volunteers went to visit the family the day before they left to drop off their travel documentation, everyone was very excited!

Travis said the highlight for him was the time spent with Greg and his father in the pits before and during the racing on the Saturday. Travis really enjoyed talking to Greg and was blown away by the atmosphere at the races. A wonderful weekend was had by all and Travis even had to have two days off school when he got back to Mosgiel to rest and get over the excitement!
