Branch News
Dunedin Brain Day
The Brain day went really well, people were interested they asked lots of questions and took brochures. We received a number of donations; it will all help to raise the Muscular Dystrophy profile in the South Island. Below is a photograph of Lesley Facoory and Raewyn Hodgson who kindly manned the stand at the event.

B.R.O.N.Z. (Bike Riders Association of New Zealand) continues to provide very good support to the Southern Region Branch. We have received a donation of six thousand dollars from the local group. Raewyn collected this cheque at their mid year social function. The funds are raised at the Vincent Motor cycle rally held each year in Alexandra. We appreciate the hardwork that B.R.O.N.Z members put in to raise the funds and thank them very much.
At present there are no cough assist machines in the Southern Region. The staff at National office are looking at obtaining funds to purchase more cough assist machines. Our branch is planning to contribute funds toward this project and is hoping to have two cough assist machines available in the Southern Region.
The Southern Region branch has provided financial support to enable a young member who lives rurally to continue swimming over the winter months at an indoor pool.
We would like to give sincere condolences to the family of Mary Buick-Constable who passed away earlier this year and to thank the family very much for the donation that the branch received following Mary’s Funeral.
